Your spreadsheet broke. We'll get it running again.
Send the file and a few lines about what happened. A paid emergency fix starts the same business day, and you'll know the price before any repair begins.
What we fix
"The macros stopped working after a Microsoft 365 update."
Updates change things under the hood: Office moves to 64-bit, an old control disappears, a security setting tightens. The workbook was fine yesterday and fails today. We find exactly what changed and make the workbook work with it, not around it.
"Microsoft has blocked macros from running in this file."
Files that arrive by email or download are marked as coming from the internet, and Office now blocks their macros. There is a right way to fix this, and it is not switching your security off: we sign the macros and set up trusted locations or publishers, so your files run and stay protected.
"Compile error" or "Can't find project or library."
Usually a missing reference, a control that no longer exists, or code written for an older version of Office. Common, fixable, and usually fast.
"The workbook is so slow nobody wants to open it."
Years of added sheets, whole-column formulas and macros that loop cell by cell. We find what's slowing it down and fix the worst of it first.
"The person who built it left."
And now nobody dares to change it. We read it, document how it works in plain words, and fix what's broken, so it's no longer one person's secret.
How an emergency fix works
- Send the file and what happened, through the request form. You'll get an email straight away with your request number.
- Pay the $250 diagnosis. Work starts the same business day. The $250 comes off the price of the repair.
- Get a fixed price for the repair, in writing, before it begins.
- Get your file back, working.
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 to 6 Eastern.
Not an emergency? Send it the same way. You'll have a written proposal with a fixed price within one business day.
What you get at the end
Your working file, and a short stabilization report:
- what went wrong, and why;
- a fragility score for the workbook, from 1 to 10, with the reasons;
- what it would take to stop it happening again, each option with a price.
You don't have to act on any of it. But most failures aren't the last one, and the report tells you where the next one is likely to come from.
Staying on Excel? Workbook Care
For workbooks that should stay workbooks: $150 a month. We check your workbook after Microsoft's updates, keep its macros signed and the certificate current, and give you one hour of changes a month. Fewer surprises, and someone who already knows the file when something does go wrong.
